Les Champ Elysees

The Avenue of Les Champ Elysees has in decades symbolized Paris’s style, elegance and zest of life. This broad avenue is one of the most famous streets in the whole world.

Avenue des Champs Elysées is also named "la plus belle avenue du monde" by the Frenchmen which means "the most beautiful avenue in the world".

Les Champs Elysées runs 3 km in the northwestern Paris, from Place de la Concorde in the east to the Place Charles de Gaulle in the west.

The streets were from the beginning market gardens until the year of 1616 when the queen consort of France decided to extend the gardens axis of the Palais des Tuileries with an avenue of trees.

Today this avenue is the place to find some of the city’s exquisite shops, boutiques and restaurants. The name refers to the Elysian Fields which in the Greek mythology is the place of the blessed.
